Troop 2001 - Dripping Springs/Austin

We are a small Boy Scout troop located in Dripping Springs, TX that serves Dripping Springs and Southwest Austin.  Our meetings are held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday evenings at Sunset Canyon Baptist Church in the Youth House.  We generally camp out once a month and complete service projects throughout the year.

Scouts also participate in fundraising events to help pay for camping, summer trips and camping gear.

Boys interested in scouting are always welcome to attend one of our meetings or activities.  Please contact us for more information.

Mission Statement of the Boy Scouts of America

It is the mission of the Boy Scouts of America to prepare young people to make ethical choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

Safe Haven Policy

Troop 2001 has established a Safe Haven Policy that goes above and beyond national BSA policy.  We believe this distinguishes us from other troops by setting a higher standard for our scouts and creating a supportive community in which they can grow and learn.

Safe Haven
One purpose of Scouting is to provide a "safe haven" for boys. Each day, boys are exposed to challenges of a fairly rough world. Kids their age dish out ridicule, are subject to psychological and physical abuse, and use strong language. While Scouts are at scout functions, they do not have to worry about these things. No one will berate them or bully them; it is absolutely not allowed. While at scout functions, boys can also feel comfortable knowing that strong language is not used. It is not needed and not allowed.
